3000 BOOKS had a bit of a tantrum over the weekend. Things are back to normal, thanks to the adamantine Rowan McNaught, but uhhh sorry about that.

I try to read 50 new books a year, and this blog records my attempts to get a handle on them. Literary grandstanding or the product of an untidy mind? No one knows.
To the numbers: when I started this blog I was 23 years old. The life expectancy for an Australian female is 83 years. 60 reading years left x 50 books = 3000 books.
Why yes, it is very literal. Some might also say it is numerical.
Please note that as of May 25, 2011, books I received through publicity channels are denoted by an asterisk. Earlier posts will include this information in the text (usually indirectly, e.g. by reference to a published review or interview).

all good – you’d be amazed how many fine blogs have a party in the reader every so often (and yours was very quiet, and well behaved.)

Party in the reader!! Genevieve you are a gem!
There was a 3000 Books party in my reader also. Fun was had.

Perhaps we should have a REAL LIFE 3000 BOOKS party. We can all dress up as Lisbeth Salander or as depressed American short story writers.
